Flánn [meaning: Irish chieftain, sounds like full-on] perfectly sums up what we do as a band – our repertoire is rooted in the Irish tradition and we play jigs and reels both modern and ancient at a pacy tempo with plenty of groove factor interspersed with a few reflective tunes and songs.

We have been playing together in various formations in bands and in local sessions for well over 25 years now and our stock of tunes is drawn from this legacy.

Our latest line-up sees Tess joining us, mainly on flute, and bringing her delightful musicality and fabulous voice. Pete has now moved over mainly to guitar and his driving DADGAD style is central to our sound - still with a few tunes on the fiddle though. Ian's banjo and bouzouki give us a more percussive edge to compliment Paul's smooth fiddle playing and Chris's joyful whistles, voice, and concertina. Together we produce a very traditional sound but with a modern twist.
